- Use the Money Counter to add a handful of
coins.
- Have your child rotate the wheel to find a
particular coin or bill. Ex: Show me
the dime.
- With the counting pad clear, ask your child
if he/she knows the value of a particular coin.
Then rotate the wheel to see the answer.
Continue with a different coin. Ex:
What's the value of a nickel/how much is a
nickel worth?
- Have your child show a different way to make
25 cents, or 67 cents, etc.
- With the counting pad clear, ask your child
the value of two dimes. Add two dimes to
the pad to see the answer. Continue with
different coin amounts and combinations,
clearing the pad each time.
- With a variety of coins and bills on the
counting pad, ask your child to determine what
the total value would be if a nickel was added.
Then add the nickel to see the answer.
Continue with various coins and bills. Do
with subtracting coins and bills, as well.
- Have your child add some coins and bills
from their piggy bank or your wallet. Then
add them using the Money Counter to see if their
answer was correct.
- With a variety of coins and bills on the
counting pad, ask your child how much he/she
would have left if you spent $1.50.
Continue with different spending amounts.
