Solve missing addend problems while playing a fun and engaging game of hide-n-seek. Choosing a target number, which is written in the upstairs window, GingerKid chips are hidden upstairs and downstairs in the GingerHouse. Opening up the downstairs, students problem solve the number of GingerKids hiding upstairs. Great reinforcement of basic addition and subtraction facts. Counting strips and bean counters can be used to model specific problems. Extension activities include exploring and recording number combinations. Perfect as a small group or center activity. What's My Rule? Pocket Cards™

Develop a strong algebraic foundation in your students as they use these unique pocket cards to analyze patterns and functions. Starting at a concrete level, students use pictures to make predictions about number patterns. Flip the card over and students work at the next level of abstraction with numbers only.
